YOU READY FOR IT?

‘You ready for it?’ he said.
‘As ready as I can be,’ I said and added after a slight pause, ‘I’m working actually. What about you?’
He coughed, spluttered it was, then said, ‘oh no,’ and coughed some more.
‘You not a fan then?’ I said.
‘I am, I am.’
‘You ready then or you got more to do?’
‘No, no,’ he said, ‘I’ve done it all now and I’m ready.’
